千葉出身 / 在住のDJ。初期Future Terrorやその周辺のシーンに影響を受けて活動をスタートして以来、千葉ローカルシーンの筆頭として関東圏のみならず静岡・大阪・北九州など各地のパーティで腕を振るっている。
ミニマル、ディープハウス、エレクトロ、ロウハウスなど多様なジャンルから選りすぐった一貫性のある選曲を持ち味とし、機械的でタイトなグルーヴの組み合わせから、スリリングな展開や力強いファンクネスを自在に引き出すスタイルを確立している。
現在は千葉のSound Bar muiにて、Local 2 LocalをコンセプトにしたパーティSpotseekを主催。DJ Sotofett & DJ Fett Burger兄弟や、Luca Lozano、DJ TLR、Mr. Ho、そして関東、関西、九州から独自のグルーヴを育み続けるDJ / トラックメイカーを招致し、共演してきた。
2017年には初となるミックスCD「Western-Western」を、大阪Mole Music店主Mitsukiが主宰する〈ROKOTSUNA MUSIC〉からリリース。表現技法としてのDJをさらに追求すべく、今後も国内外でのDJとパーティメイクを精力的に手がけていく予定。

- Onigiri or Club Sandwich ?
おにぎり 日本人のソウルフードですから。
Onigiri since it's the soul food of Japan.
- Where are you ? How did you end-up where you are located now ?
東京のとなりの千葉って所です。 生まれも育ちもここだからです。千葉は素晴らしいDJがたくさん誕生した地域で、90年代後半から2010年付近まではとてもクレイジーな状況でした。ヤバいパーティやレコード屋、仲間達との日常。本当にたくさんの影響を受けました。 その頃みんなでパーティしてたクラブが何回かのcloseと移転の後、今の友人達が経営するSound Bar Muiになりました。だから僕が他の土地に移住する理由はありません。 I am now in Chiba, near Tokyo. Born and raised there. It's an area that gave birth to many awesome DJs. From the later half of the 90s until around 2010 my life had been "crazy", everyday having bizzare parties, hanging around record stores with my friends. These things have many effects on me later on. There was one club we used to party at that time. After many time being closed or moved to another position it finally became Sound Bar Mui, which is now being run by my friends. Ever since then I find no reason to move to another club.
- Your favorite 深夜食堂 (Shinya shokudō) in Japan ?
そんなタイトルのドラマありましたよね。
深夜にSound Bar Muiまで寿司の配達してくれるお店があるんだけど、名前はわすれました。
That's also the name of a drama series, right? There is a restaurant that delivers sushi to Sound Bar Mui at midnight for us but I forgot the name of it.
- Can you tell us the story behind this picture ?
Hanoi 、Bird Cageでの一枚。Tok aka Thomas のcrew主催のStudio Adventureで3h DJした後。Sugoiパーティでしたね。
This was taken at Bird Cage, Hanoi after 3 hours of DJing at a Studio Adventure event, held by the crew of Tok aka Thomas.
Music Noodle Scoop
Noodle soup is a variety of soup composed of noodles and other ingredients served in a light broth. The noodles may have been made with rice, wheat or eggs. Nothing related to a limp penis.
- Your favorite records ?
- この20年以上のキャリアの中で大量のレコードを聴いてきたから、1番は決められないかな。 1番のレコードレーベルはklasse Wrecksですね。全てのリリースが素晴らしいです。 Over 20 years of my career I have listened to a large number of records so it is difficult to say which one I like best. I think Klasse Wrecks is the best record label though, every single release of them is awesome.

- When did you first experiment with electronic music ?
90年台のHip Hop から入りDetroitのHouseなどに移り変わりました。 I started with the 90s’ Hip Hop and then switched to Detroit House.
- Any すごい clubs/bars, you’d recommend in Japan ?
Contact Tokyo, Solfa, Counter Club, Spread, Grass Roots, Sound Bar Mui, Rajishan, Troop, たくさんありすぎてキリがないですね。まだまだありますよ。 Contact Tokyo, Solfa, Counter Club, Spread, Grass Roots, Sound Bar Mui, Rajishan, Troop... and so many places more.
- Some japanese DJs take the decision to leave Japan, to experience the nightlife in other countries such as Vietnam or Hong-Kong. What’s the actual state of the electronic music industry in Japan ?
日本の音楽業界の事はよくわかりません。現場レベルでの問題点は、あまり無いように感じます。どこにDJしに行ってもサウンドクオリティは素晴らしいですし、ターンテーブルやミキサーのセッティングも悪い所はあまりありません。ただ、ヨーロッパ等の国々と比べると、クラブで遊ぶ人が少な過ぎるので、DJを職業にするのは難しいですね。
I am not really particular about the music scene of Japan. I feel like there’s not many problems about the current level of it. Everywhere I go DJ sound quality is great and there’s very few places with bad settings of turntables and mixers. But when compared to European countries there are very few people in Japan who go clubbing. Therefore it is difficult to actually take DJ as a primary job.
- In the same time, many artists from all music-kinds (rap, hip-hop, electronic, rock) come to Japan to complete their EP/Albums. Why does this country attract so many artists?
狭い範囲にレコード屋がまとまっていますし、ヴァイナルの状態も良いものが多いですよね。 It’s a country where there are many record shops with good condition vinyl discs.
-Are you into music production ?
していません。I don't produce.

- A Wat De Phoq anecdote about you?
昔地元のパーティにゲストで来ていたDetroitのDJが、その場の状況に感動して泣きながらDJしてたシーンは未だに忘れられないね。 I can’t forget that one time way back then when a Detroit DJ came to our town party as a guest, he was so moved by the atmosphere there that he cried while continuing to DJ.
- Your definition of a “Listening Bar” ?
行かないからわからないです。I don’t go to such place so I can’t tell.
- Your final commandment ?
また、国境が開いたら一緒にパーティしましょう。その時までポジティブでいるように心掛けてください。
DJはたくさん曲を聴いて、たくさん練習をしてください。そんなにあまい道ではありません。先は長い。
Let's all party when all the borders are opened again. Until then try to keep our mindset stay positive.
All the DJs we need to listen to more songs and practice more and more. The road we have chosen is not an easy one. There is still a long way to go.
